“A man paints with his brains and not with his hands.” -Michelangelo
Your ultimate limitation as an artist is none other than YOU!
The sky is the limit, but we generally set a ceiling for ourselves. We get discouraged during a plateau in our skill development and tell ourselves, "Well, this is as far as I can go." Or we think we have reached our peak and quit striving for more.
Let me be blunt with you...don't kid yourself.
🚫 DON'T accept lack of noticeable progress as a stopping point.
🚫 DON'T mistake comfortability for complete mastery.
🚫 DON'T set your ceiling when there is so much more room for you to grow.
There is always room for improvement, and the field of art is ever-changing. But this isn't all about me telling you what not to do. In fact, it is me telling you what to tell yourself to do!
✅ DO keep deliberately practicing and pushing yourself even when you don't see growth anywhere in sight.
✅ DO take risks that challenge you and get you outside of your comfort zone.
✅ DO leave your mind open to the possibilities and let your imagination run wild.
No one said the path of an artist would be easy, but it can be a whole lot of fun. 😊
