Rufus is the Big, Bad Wolf
Rufus is the snooty, know-it-all, art critic that lives inside the mind of every artist.
With spring just around the corner, it can be a time of rejuvenation as the weather warms, the flowers start to bloom, and the sun hangs around a little longer each day.
Rufus knows, and he despises this.
So, if you feel him breathing down your back a little more each time you take a seat in the studio, it's because he seems to work double-time when you feel better. You feeling better is one of the last things that he wants. If he can keep you nervous, scared, disappointed, or just flat-out miserable, he will.
For those still a bit less certain of themselves in their art, he plays it up so you have further to fall emotionally. For those more set in their art, he is going to rip and tear at your foundation or at least the base of your walls until you crash.
It's like having the big bad wolf lurking outside your home, but this is where you needn't let emotions get the best of you.
Take that same deep breath he's trying to blow your peace away with, let it out slowly, and know his voice is growing louder because you are on the verge of your very own spring in the studio.
