Photography vs. Painting
Those who choose painting as their primary artistic voice should understand that there are certain creative guidelines — “rules” if you will — that create the foundation for painted works.
None of the “rules” are written in stone but are good guidelines for creating strong painted works.
These “rules” are often in direct contrast to those of photography.
For the professional photographers among us, the mental shift to painting can be a daunting task.
Not to worry!
With time and practice, the shift will come.
