Life Obliges Me

Did you know everyone doesn't have the exact same abilities? 😱

 

That statement may not be a shocker, but have you ever found yourself watching someone and saying, "I wish I could do that?"

 

Say no more! We have ALL been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. 👕

 

When it comes to painting, I believe anyone can paint. Let me say that a little louder.

 

📢 ANYONE CAN PAINT!

 

But within that simple statement, there is a lot more wrapped up in it. There is time and effort, learning and application, frustrations and triumphs. The real reason that not everyone paints is we have different interests.

 

If you ask my sons, just about the only painting they care about is the paint job on a car or truck. 😂 They don't want to apply themselves to learning oils or Photoshop or anything of the sort. That's what mom is for, right?

 

And this doesn't mean the original statement about everyone not having the same abilities isn't true. Our interests and passions guide our abilities. I don't particularly care to learn how to rebuild an engine, write complex computer code, or work on machines, in general, more than I have to. And even if we have the same interest and passions, have you noticed each person has their own twist to it?

 

That's because we see things differently. Just within art, we can visualize the differences between artists with similar core interests and passions. Abstract, realism, hyperrealism, surrealism, expressionism, impressionism, pop art, and the list could go on. Some people do better with animal subjects, others with humans, and yet again others with landscapes.

 

So, since life obliges me to do something, I chose to paint. What will your decision be?
