Keep Moving Forward
“What moves men of genius, or rather what inspires their work, is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough.” -Eugene Delacroix
Having a mindset of continuous improvement is not just for a business person. Every creative throughout history from inventors to artists has had the conviction that what has already been done and accomplished isn't enough.
When you find something that lures you in or that you just can't get out of your head, maybe it is calling you to do more?
It's easy to use our skill level at the time or a number of other excuses as a crutch. But if you find the only reason you're finishing a painting is to settle, reconsider.
Those paintings that keep calling back to you and don't meet your satisfaction are the ones you'll learn some of the best lessons from. Re-paint them as your skills grow and as you get new ideas. You'll stumble across a final piece more complete and more beautiful than you ever could have imagined.
That is how you will keep moving forward.
Hand-painted in Adobe Photoshop CC using the Wacom Intuos Pro and the Wacom Art Pen.
