It's About the Journey

Have you ever set your inner artist free? Just allowed it to be itself and see what it comes up with to create?
I LOVE to do this with composition pieces. You get an idea in mind, and after you can't shake it for a while, you know you've got to paint it.
Coming up with where to get reference images (if they need to be personal photos to get just the right elements or if you need to storyboard for hours to find what you're looking for) is an exciting part of the journey.
I mean, think about all of the fanciful tales you can read. Is the majority of the book slaying the dragon or rescuing the princess?
NO!
The majority of the story is about the journey to reach that goal, and that's what makes the ending so great.
So, next time you hear a calling from your heart to do a painting, set your inner artist free and enjoy the journey. 🙌
