Art is not a hobby or career or whatever finite term you would like to insert there. It is a constant state of being.
As an artist, you will always be working. Whether it's searching for inspiration in your surroundings; thinking about your previous, current, or future piece; working on the actual piece; or receiving critique and feedback to then go back and re-obsess over the piece.
There is an ebb and flow to it.
Art is living, and with each breath, it blows you to and fro within the creation process.
It might be the hand-to-medium work that gets the glory, but there is so much more to it than that...
For an artist, creating is not an option. It is a way of life.
