The Biggest Challenge
“Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant, there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing.” -Georgia O’Keeffe
Have you ever heard "being an artist means you've succeeded already?"
Many of us have, but for some reason, living the life and doing the work doesn't always FEEL successful. There are a lot of challenges and challenging people along the way.
One thing about being a self-taught painter turned Photoshop artisan...you learn QUICKLY that people will find any reason to look down on your artwork. And maybe this is tooting my own horn, but I have worked and continue to work hard for what I have created, and I am able to achieve things that regular paint cannot.
Yet, I am still compared to regular paint, so how do I deal with that?
One way is I've delved extensively into studying brushes and the brushstrokes they create. Because of this, I am able to mimic them as well as different painting mediums in my Photoshop artwork.
I'm not keeping this knowledge to myself though! As Beyond the Brushes members advance to the final stage, I train them in how to build their own brushes to accomplish their hearts' desires.
So to my fellow hand-painting Photoshop artists, your art is not worthless or lesser than others. It is just a different medium.
Hand-painted in Adobe Photoshop CC using the Wacom Intuos Pro and the Wacom Art Pen.
